The impulse to design and create are in my DNA. At an early age I learned the value of design aesthetics and craftsmanship to create a unique piece. My father was a 3rd generation custom jewelry designer and fabricator. Some of my best memories were when I joined my father in his workshop. I witnessed the entire process from beginning to end. It started first with a client’s idea of what they wanted, then my father’s intricate design, the many hours spent creating the piece, and finally seeing the joy of a client receiving their unique design.
I started out as many architects do - creating designs based on a client’s wish list and then engaging the services of a contractor to build the project. I felt this process could be disjointed and subtleties of a refined design were sometimes lost in the process. I wanted the opportunity to carry a project through from design to construction and was able to pursue this in 2010. This allowed the client to have a single point of contact throughout the entire project and made the process seamless for the owner. Having one individual at the helm of what can be a fairly complex process simplifies the client experience, and ensures that the true intent of the design is preserved. Over the years I’ve had the privilege of developing strong relationships with vendors, craftsmen, tradesmen, and interior designers who are trusted and essential members of the team and work together to create each unique custom residence.
